Ask Damage X

Written by: admin (0) comments so far... What's your take?

Today we are taking a look at Ask Damage X, a webmaster board and community. In a world full of adult industry boards that generate drama as a way of getting more page views with an eye toward banner revenue, Ask Damage X stands out. That’s because Ask Damage X is one of the few boards that focuses more on webmastering and less on gossip, innuendo and what is usually called board drama. And how does that work out? It works out very well.

Founded by webmasters DamageX and CraK in 2005, Ask Damage X started with a core group of posters, many of whom were webmasters with TGP and MGP backgrounds. Most of the webmasters were business-oriented as were both founders, and this set the stage for the overall mood. There is a feeling of camaraderie among a lot of the members of this board.

Ask Damage X currently has 7 public forums including a main discussion board, resource and tools, a trade section, a spam board, and 2 sections dedicated to outing cheating webmasters/sites. The board has grown to be one of the busier and more business-oriented boards in the webmaster community. While there’s a good amount of joking around, a lot of the posts tend to be industry related.

One other way the Ask Damage X stands out is that there is no "bro’s club". Where some boards tend to treat paying advertisers or certain sponsors with kid gloves, that does not seem to happen at this board. While some of the posters have known each other for years, the webmasters here seem to welcome other webmasters and are willing to help newbies. Those webmasters proven to be cheaters, whether traders or sponsors, are not treated with patience, although they are generally heard out.

I recommend that webmasters looking for advice on how to run or improve their TGPs and MGPs check out Ask Damage X because I’ve found Ask Damage X to be the best source of webmaster info around. Of course, there is a lot of other webmaster related topics there, and the board members have a very widespread knowledge base. Whether you’re a newbie, an affiliate or a program owner, Ask Damage X should probably be on your list of boards to drop in on regularly.
